Abstract

The intention of this guide is to provide businesses with the three most environmentally friendly options for each component new construction. This guide covers everything from the basic building blocks in construction to more decorative details weighing the pros and cons of each option to allow the consumer to draw their own conclusions and chose the best product for their needs. Each component has been evaluated and three green options are presented. The purpose is to inform the consumer of green products available to them and to allow them to weigh the pros and cons of each product. This guide does have limitations depending on what products are available, in your area. If there are local green options- great, but many products travel great distances and are sold to large-scale suppliers. The pros and cons of the products in this guide are general stereotypes, and individual products may differ in performance.
