Abstract

This project aims to create a toolkit to establish a formally organized ride sharing program in Haliburton County. Ride sharing has been gaining popularity recently as an alternative to public transportation and has several advantages: It is an environmentally friendly way to travel, it saves gas and money, and it connects riders and passengers to allow everyone to get to their destination. This project will look at the essential components of a successful ride share system and create a manual for establishing a ride share program in Haliburton County that takes into account its unique social and geographical topography.
